Google Places Changing Search Results

Regular UK users of Google's search engine may have noticed a change recently in how their search results are displayed. Depending on the search criteia, location based searches may now display a list of companies from business places before showing other entries. For local search users this will return more accurate results and stop certain businesses from monopolising the search results across multiple locations. With regards to businesses using SEO the new search results may well lose or gain them positions depending on if they have a business places entry. Our advice is that if your business is not already been entered into Google places then do it now. Its currently a free service and will only take a few minutes of your time.

Internet Marketing Overtakes TV Ads

The UK online marketing industry got exciting news recently when it was revealed that internet advertising expenditure have exceeded television ads.

Those in the televison ad industry were quick to point out that the Internet is a medium comprised of many types of marketing such as email, pay per click and search engine optimisation.

It may be a bit early for internet marketeers to celebrate yet as this current trend is thought to be created by the recent global recession. It will be interesting to see what these figures are again once the economy has stablised and advertising expenses begin to return to normal.
